Russian President Vladimir Putin recommended that CBR in cooperation with Russian Agricultural Bank and other interested Russian credit institutions prepare proposals on banking products aimed to support SMEs’ initiatives, including on realization of social projects in rural areas. These instructions were given following a joint meeting of the State Council and the Presidential Council for the Implementation of Priority National Projects and Demographic Policy that took place on April 21, 2014.
Besides, the abovementioned organizations should work out the possibility of setting up consultation centers on banking services to SMEs in rural settlements.
Several tasks of the President were given to executive authorities of Russian constituents. In particular, Putin recommended that they take measures to develop the network of agricultural consumer cooperatives, including machinery stations to equip small businesses technically.
Moreover, the President asked the regional heads to take additional measures to support people, having moved or willing to move for permanent residence in rural areas, including provision of grants to graduates, who are moving to work in rural areas.
Putin draw attention of regional authorities to the necessity of increasing rural residents’ awareness of state support to SMEs and cooperation, including clarification of key legal provisions in this sphere.
