In the framework of cooperation between Russian Agricultural Bank (RusAg, the Bank) and Russian Export Center JSC (REC), parties have agreed to hold a series of webinars for agricultural producers in order to increase the level of export literacy of start-up companies. Joint events are designed to inform agribusiness about promotion opportunities and export support programs.
The first webinar was attended by over 100 agricultural companies from various regions of the country. Its topic was the program for compensation of costs for certification and promotion of agricultural products through the REC show-rooms abroad.
In his opening remarks, RusAg’s representative spoke about the possibilities and advantages of servicing foreign economic activity in the Bank, as well as about the joint implementation of an acceleration program for agribusiness companies with REC. RusAg provides comprehensive support to its clients from providing financing to assistance in drawing up a foreign economic activity contract, participating in negotiations with clients' counterparties and their banks, development of the settlement structure with the integrated use of various banking instruments and services, consulting on currency and compliance control issues.
The REC representative, in turn, spoke about the possibilities and features of placing agricultural products in demonstration and tasting pavilions (show-rooms) in foreign countries. He noted that, despite the pandemic, three pavilions of Russian agricultural products, opened in China (Shanghai), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), continue to operate and attract new potential buyers abroad. The operation of pavilions with Russian food products abroad is aimed at promoting Russian agricultural goods to local markets for the purpose of concluding export contracts for their supply in the future. Placing products in pavilions and promoting them in local markets is carried out for organizations free of charge.
The event also provided information on the government program for compensation of costs for the certification of agricultural products. This program is aimed at supporting Russian companies that promote their products to foreign markets, and involves compensating exporters for up to 90% of their costs. The compensation includes expenses of Russian exporters for assessing the compliance of agricultural products with the requirements of foreign markets, conducting veterinary and sanitary and phytosanitary measures, transportation, storage, testing and disposal of test samples.
Subsequent webinars of RusAg and REC for exporters will be devoted to logistics issues, the procedure for working with marketplaces, adaptation of products and companies within the framework of foreign economic activity, as well as participation in business missions and exhibitions.
